Typically consisting of a blend of different cosmetic dental treatment and other dental solutions, the goal of a Smile Makeover is to dramatically improve the appearance of your teeth.
Following a FREE Initial Consultation with out Treatment Coordinator and a subsequent Smile Assessment, we'll create a bespoke Treatment Plan that's tailored to your unique needs. This might involve some of the following treatment solutions:
• Teeth straightening
• Cosmetic dental veneers
• Composite bonding & white fillings
• Teeth whitening
• Dental crowns & bridges
• Dental implants
If your front teeth are stained, chipped, or malaligned, veneers will give you a good, life-like appearance with minimum tooth adjustment.
A veneer is a porcelain facing on the front of your teeth usually your upper teeth, it is just like a false finger nail made out of porcelain and this treatment is mainly used for aesthetic reasons.
Veneers make teeth look natural and healthy, and because they are very thin and are held in place by a special strong bond (rather like super-glue) very little preparation of the tooth is needed. Porcelain veneers can improve the colour, shape and position of teeth.
A precise shade of porcelain can be chosen to give the right colour to improve a single discoloured or stained tooth or to lighten front teeth (usually the upper ones).
Veneers can also be used to close small gaps, when orthodontics (braces) are not suitable. If one tooth is slightly out of position, a veneer can sometimes be fitted to bring it into line with the others.
The Enlighten Tooth Whitening system combines both at-home and chairside bleaching to give you a natural-looking Hollywood smile. With a guaranteed shade of Vita B1 (the whitest shade on our Vita shade guide), you can look forward to an amazing result. Enlighten is different from most other whitening systems as it can dramatically whiten even the darkest teeth, achieving results of up to 15 shades lighter. This deep bleaching treatment works by increasing the tooth's permeability to oxygen, which breaks down stain molecules. It is a combination treatment, with a two-week at-home stage followed by a 40-minute visit at the dentist.
We also offer other professional whitening options, including VIVIDA and Boutique whitening systems. These can whiten teeth in as little as 20–30 minutes a day from the comfort of your own home, giving you noticeable results without disrupting your routine.
With long-lasting, brilliant results, our whitening treatments are an excellent way to dramatically brighten your smile while keeping it looking natural.
Composite bonding is the use of composite material that is then bonded to reshape, rebuild, or fill damaged teeth. It is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure, but can result in huge cosmetic enhancement.
The treatment is very simple, and it can usually be done in a single visit. Your dentist will match the colour of the composite resin with the rest of your teeth to ensure that your smile looks as natural as possible. The resin will then be placed onto the area required and moulded into the correct shape. Finishing touches and polishing will be applied after curing the composite resin.
A dental bridge is usually used where there are only a few teeth to replace, or when the missing teeth are only on one side of the mouth. Bridges are usually made of a precious metal base.
A dental bridge can be an ideal fixed solution when only a few teeth need replacement. Bridges can be made with a precious metal base. At Surrey Dental Surgery, we also offer metal-free bridge options.
Teeth on either side of the space can be used to anchor the bridge, either with some preparation of these teeth or occasionally with no preparation at all.
The all-ceramic crown offers many advantages over traditional crowns. Besides its high aesthetic qualities, the function and longevity of the crown are excellent as well.
The all-ceramic crown means that a porcelain crown to be made without a metal understructure. Traditionally, porcelain crowns are made by bonding the porcelain to a metal support. The drawback is that, unlike a natural tooth which exhibits a certain degree of translucency, the metal framework beneath the porcelain blocks out the light. To the keen observer, the difference in shine and translucency between a natural tooth and a metal-backed crown can be quite obvious.
While full porcelain crowns have been used (and still are), many have been known to break prematurely. Furthermore, porcelain surfaces are known to wear down opposing natural teeth faster.
